Bee happy ..... update magnets

Had these magnets from Ikea hanging around in my drawers, getting in the way for ages, they weren't pretty enough to go on my new fridge!

I decided to do something about it at last!

I played about with different things for the tops.

I made some flowers with cream calico fabric which are old curtains and then stitched a bead, buttons or group of beads in the centre.

I had these cute little crochet flowers and put spotty buttons in the centre.

When I had finally made my decisions I used my glue gun to attach the flowers securely to the top.

My finshed magnets on the fridge.

Hope you like them :)

Bee happy .... put up a washing line!

I decided to pretty up under the stairs as it's so boring so I put up a mini washing line.

I used my mini white pegs, these are so cute!

I have used creams and pinks this week, I think I may change the colours every so often.

I decided to use bits and pieces which were laying around on my desk and my craft table and now every time I look under the stairs I have something lovely to cheer me up.

Bee happy .... visit some chicks

As it was sunny yesterday I decided to get my table on the garden to give a sand down so I can repaint it.

I had just started when my lovely neighbour shouted me, she told me she had brought her chicks home from school.  She is a head teacher at a primary school and the chicks had started as eggs at the beginning of last week and were already hatched and looking cute!

I couldn't say no, so I downed my tools, or rather husband's tools and we went to take a peek.

This is her sweet daughter Sam in her new sunglasses :)

The chicks are already a handful!

Aren't they so cute!

I will return with news on the finished table in a later post.

Bee happy ..... get the glue out!

I found this box the other day when sorting out a few things and wondered what I could do with it.

It was holding a necklace from Boden but now the necklace is on my hooks the box was redundant!

It has a little ribbon tag which pulls a drawer out.

After wondering for a few days I decided to get out the glue and stick bits to it and use my new stamps from Cox and Cox!

I'm really pleased with the result, I think I'm going to store my luggage tags in when I have stamped or decoupaged them :)

Bee happy ..... pretty up a chair

I don't know about the rest of you but most office desk chairs come in boring plain colours or too bright you feel sick! I decided to make mine prettier so it fitted into my office better.

I decided to make covers for it.  In the past on a chair before this I actually took the chair apart to cover the seat pads but couldn't be bothered to do this on this chair.

For the seat I made something similar to a shower cap based on the seat shape with elastic through the edges.  This is hidden underneath.

For the back of the seat I used 2 circle shapes but following the lines of the chair and sewed the 2 pieces together around 3 sides.  I used ribbon instead of elastic for this piece.

When it's fitted just pull the ribbon and tie in a pretty bow.

Both covers can be easily taken off and washed unlike when I took the last chair apart!

Bee happy ..... grow a tree

Thanks for your help, I have managed it somehow, it seems to be different everytime loading pics!!

Don't rub your eyes, it is a very large envelope.  There is a reason, it was to keep my wall stickers safe from Cox and Cox!

I ordered 2 sets of stickers for my hallway, one tree for the wall near the front door and the other set for the landing upstairs.

Just have to paint the walls first.

Have a great weekend everyone, I'm off to Bicester tomorrow!

Bee happy .... help someone!!

I want to put some photos on my blog but it's only letting me put one on. I know to highlight the picture I want to add it to blog but then it won't let me browse any more after one picture is on!

Does anyone know what's wrong?

The windows have gone alright, apart from cutting the phone line for a bit when taking the old front door out, but that's sorted now!

Bee happy .... get a present

My mum in law (aka the Duke) went to the Isle of Wight last week on holiday and bought me some buttons.  They are quite different, not seen any like this before, I love them :)

Thanks Duke!

We are having new windows and doors fitted over the next 3 days and while the dogs are in the kennels we are taking advantage of a day out at Bicester again on Saturday.  I won't be posting anything until next week probably but if I get the time I'll still be browsing yours :)

Bee happy ..... make, do and glam up!

When I was in Selfridges the other weekend I saw some lovely tea towels with ribbons and trims on.  They were that fab they didn't have a price on! So, rather than enquiring and then not buying because of the price I thought I would make my own from already owned ones.

I chose 2 in pink, using the smaller flower towel to cut up. Then a red one to add bits on to.

I cut 2 sections from the small print towel and stitched on either end of large flower towel.
I then added some East of India ribbon across the centre of the strip.
Then I finished off with lace on each end.
To hide any messy sides I then added trim down both sides
to finish off.
Because this towel already had one piece of ribbon I found another the same
to put on the other end, then I put a wider piece of ribbon above each end.
I finished off with a piece of  lace on each end again.
I also added a ribbon hanger halfway.

I am now the proud owner of 2 new tea towels which were otherwise left in the drawer as my Cath Kidston ones were always used!

I may make some for mum in law for mothers day.
