Bee happy .... living room update

Well the living room is all finished and here are a few pictures showing you around.

I tied a little ribbon around the tops of these lampshades to brighten them up.

I made a new cover for the footstool with Laura Ashley and John Lewis fabric
trimming the yellow frill with ribbon.

You can see I have made matching cushion covers for the settees and I have 2 new Jan Constantine cushions in blue.

I decided to put my embroidery pictures up in this corner instead of the larger wall where they were before, this is my art corner :)

Because I didn't want to put my large mirror back up on the top of this cupboard as it would cover the wallpaper but I wanted a tall picture so I cut out the word LOVE in left over wallpaper and put it in this frame from Ikea.

I also put this heart box picture here which is what I stitched for Mr Happy as an anniversary present for our 20th wedding anniversary which was a couple of weeks ago.

More pictures on this room to come.

At the moment we have a decorator in doing the stairs for us, it was far too hard for me to do, as I write he is balancing on some sort of ladder/wood structure he has set up stripping the last of the wallpaper off the walls and ceiling which I couldn't reach :)

Bee happy ..... buy a new laptop

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who left a message with info about laptops.  I really appreciate that you took time to help me out.

I have finally made a decision and bought a laptop yesterday.

After lots of research, listening to you all and playing about in stores on the different laptops I bought another Toshiba.  I would have loved to have bought a mac but it was out of my price range but maybe next time :) Got a really good deal, bought it from Best Buys.

I am really pleased with my new laptop and started setting it up yesterday as soon as we got home with it.

I am now fully up and running and I love it!

It is so much faster than my old one, much lighter and got lots more tools and bits on which I still need to learn how to use!!

I have decided to have another giveaway to say thank you to everyone in blog land for all of your help, support and kind comments.

Bee happy ... any help is much appreciated

Hi everyone

I need a little help at the moment.

I am about to purchase a new laptop as my current one is about 6 years and is so slow and annoying.  But looking around the shops is confusing me slightly! 

Could anyone suggest a good make that you like using, I have a Toshiba at the moment but have been recommend Sony, Apple etc etc, I think whatever the sales person has bought themselves!!

I have been looking at an Intel i3 with 4gb and  500 hard drive, if that makes sense to anyone!

Is this a good spec for blogging and what is everyone else using?

I need my laptop for blogging of course, shopping of course, on line banking, i tunes, photos and using word documents.

I would appreciate any info, hints and tips please as all the techno talk is very confusing!!

Bee happy .... have a few days off from decorating!

Can you believe these were taken only 2 weeks ago, look at the weather now!

The farmer was very busy in the field behind our house.

Been to Gasmere in the Lake District for a day out this week.

It was raining on and off so we had a hot spiced apple drinks and got some duck food for our little friends.

All of the boats were in because of the high winds from last week.

This cheeky monkey knocked the cup of duck food out of my hands and then hoovered it up!

Tash and Coco had a spa day at the kennels and came back with a cut and blow dry!!

The next day out was at Lady Bower reservoir today, in the rain again!

Just wanted to show you a bird house I made last week for my office.  Found an old chocolate box and decided to cut it up and use my Tilda birds :)

Bee happy ..... finish off

You can probably remember my little assistant couldn't decide which room to use this C & R wallpaper in, well now she has decided.

It was chosen for a feature wall in the living room.

You can probably see the wallpapering was done during an evening as it is dark outside.

Morning, and checking out the finished wall in daylight.

The TV cupboard has been eventually lifted out for the next job.

I even wallpapered in the tiny shelves in the fireplace, this was tricky but well worth it me thinks.

Painting the floor next!

First coat complete.

The floor had 3 coats of paint altogether.

The next job was ironing all the washed and dried curtains, blackout linings and voile.  It was a massive job putting the curtains back up, took nearly all day after ironing each section.

Bee happy .... start the next room

The next room on the decorating hit list is the living room.

The room has been emptied just about into the garage, just leaving a settee, TV and cupboard to use while I clean, prepare and paint the walls.

The walls and ceiling have all been painted now with white chalky paint

Star lantern light fittings have gone up which have been in storage from a couple of houses ago.

Mr Happy's sky box on life support on the windowsill so it can still record things while I carry out the next job, stay tuned .....

Bee happy .... more after photos

As promised, more after photos of my office.

Everything is back in place, labelled, organised, pictures up and looking tidy :)

I had a brainwave with my bobbin holder.

It was on my wall before I started decorating as a bag holder but I turned it around to fit in the corner and sat a wooden bobbin on each hook.  Had to sand some of the wooden hooks so the bobbins would fit properly but this didn't take too long. 

My adorable little assistant has been hard at work helping throughout the decorating ;)

She couldn't decide which room to put this wall paper up in :)

I have bought this fabric from Laura Ashley to go with the C & R dark flower wallpaper.

I had to buy some Cabbages and Roses wallpaper, I just love the pattern.

I have some pink.

I have some black.

I wonder which rooms will get some C & R?

Had a break on Friday from painting and with a girly group we went to the Chatsworth show.

Saw the Red Arrows flying for the first time which was great, but the photos wouldn't down load for some reason :(

I did treat myself to this gorgeous leather bag.

This flower pattern is over the whole bag, it was so pretty couldn't resist it ;)

Found a lovely lady who draws different things on leather bags and purses and asked her if she had any purses with bees on.  She had a rummage and came up with this sweetie :)

I asked if she would be able to write on the leather and of course she obliged and of course I asked for Bee happy ;0)
