Bee happy ..... see stars

I found myself with a little spare time which doesn't happen all that much these days so I made some star garlands for Christmas.

They are that pretty they may have to stay up longer than just for Christmas ;)

I used my vintage sheet music stash and cut out a large and small star and then a medium star in pink paper.

I put all 3 stars on top of each other then used the sewing machine to stitch all the way through them all, I kept adding the stars until the garlands were long enough.

At the end of the garland I left enough thread for hanging with.

What have you been making for Christmas?

Bee happy ..... have a pink Christmas

I wanted to share with you my pink Christmas decorations.

I haven't had pink out for Christmas for a couple of years so decided this year it was time again.

I had lots of pink baubles and decorations but purchased a couple more for this year to update the look ;)

I have mixed in my lovely silver mercury decorations with the pretty pink ones.

A few pink ribbons and bows have been added too.

I have used my old vintage suitcase for a decoration this year for the first time and think it may become a regular.

Bee happy .... start the Advent countdown

It's that time of year again for the Advent calender to begin.

This year I decided to go with pink and white sweet bags for hiding the Advent goodies inside.

I secured the top with some washi tape and put numbered stickers on each one.

They are all kept safe in a metal storage basket which I have decorated.

Last year I used small gift bags which were secured to the stair banister but wanted a change this year.

What do you have for your Advent calender?

Bee happy .... visit the Knit and Stitch show at Harrogate

I was lucky enough to visit the Knit and Stitch show again this year at Harrogate and had a great time looking at the work on show and adding to my fabric and ribbon collection.

Here are a few pics of the the stands and the work on show this year.

I just loved this VW camper and had to take its picture.

Leather work with bead detail on show.

I loved the hangers on these pieces as old maps had been used.

There was a table set up with long pieces of fabric for visitors to add their own piece of embroidery to, thought this was a great idea.

I cam across this lady Abbie Wardle and had to take some pictures.

Beautiful print and stitching on to fabric then put over a frame.

Head over to Abbie's blog to see more detailed photos of her work.

What did you do this weekend?

Bee happy ..... gift wrap your stairs

I had seen this image on Pinterest and really liked the idea of a different step/design going up the stairs.

When we decorated the stairs and hallway I chose to paint a grey runner up the stairs with a white base.

I decided I wanted a change as the grey paint was looking tired and scuffed so I went off hunting for different wallpapers but couldn't find just what I was looking for, they weren't special enough.

I then had an idea of using wrapping paper.

I went off to Paperchase and bought several different wrapping paper sheets in pretty designs and colours.

After painting over the worn grey steps several times for a solid white step I then added a different paper on each riser using wallpaper paste to stick it down.

Now the paper has dried I am really pleased with the result and when I get fed up of this I can easily change it again :)

Bee happy ..... swap Christmas envelopes

I took part in the Christmas envelope swap kindly organised by the wonderful Rosa Lily.

This is the envelope I sent to Rosa Lily, I decided to go for a French theme and got the glitter out.

This is the lovely envelope I received back from Rosa Lily.

I have always loved Rosa Lily's artwork she is so talented.

I also received some spotty gift tags and an envelope not to be opened until 1st December.
