Bee happy .... get the paint brush out

I have had the paint brush out again.

 

This cupboard and 3 crates came in this brown varnished wood look and since getting them I have been itching to paint them white.

I finally got around to it last week.

 

 

I unscrewed all of the little plates and saved them in a plastic cup so I didn't loose them.

 

After painting I screwed all of the plates back on again.

 

I think this little cupboard looks so much better white and all my bits and pieces stand out better against the white background.

Bee happy ...... finish painting a room and start another!!

Remember Mr Happy's office when it looked like this just last week?

Well now it's all painted and finished :) at last!

The floor boards turned out really well and I am extra pleased as this is what I am doing in my office :)

I put all the furniture and bits back yesterday afternoon so now Mr Happy is really happy because he is now back in his office and not on the landing ;)

Do you like the little dog cushion I made on the chair?

We just have to put the pictures back on the walls.

After I finished Mr Happy's office yesterday I started stripping my office of all the furniture and bits and bobs as this is my next painting project this week.

You don't realise how much stuff you have until you have to move it!! lol

Now it's empty I can prepare the walls, sanding and cleaning them ready for painting, which is my job today.

Couldn't resist showing you my lovely heart bucket which I have had for years, a purchase from Cox and Cox I think.

I wonder which colour I will pick for my office walls,

purple

grey

pink

blue

or white?

I was looking after my neighbour's cat last week while they were on their holidays and I got a pressie yesterday from them :)

A bar of thank you chocolate.

and 2 pieces of nougat, had already eaten one before taking the photos :)

I have finished this gorgeous navy fleece throw this weekend as well which I will put in either my Etsy or Folksy shop

I will be sanding, cleaning and painting bedroom 4 this week which is Mr Happy's office so I will catch up with everyone when I need a sit down.

Bee happy ..... change a table

A few weekends ago I started sanding down this table to repaint it.

I have had this table for quite a few years now, and it started off pine then I used an ivy stencil around the corners.

I got the table from Ikea in Leeds even before there was an Ikea open at Nottingham. We drove the table home in a smallish car with the table resting over the top of the headrests so it would fit in the car! Husband and I had compacted backs for a week after driving home squashed in our seats with the table over our heads, probably highly illegal but I just had to have it!

But back to the sanding.

This is it having had a sanding with the electric sander and ready for painting.

Painted white and drying in the living room. Under this white paint
is grey so when I distress it the grey shows through.





2 coats of white paint and a new handle.

The table then went back on the garden to be distressed by hand so the grey paint would show through.

Here is my lovely assistant.

It took about 2 hours by hand to distress and gave me a really sore arm and shoulder!

After sanding by hand the table looked a bit shiny on top still so kind husband got out the electric sander again and went over it to dull it off and then it got sanded again by hand with a really fine paper to finish it off.

Really pleased with the result, the grey shows through and it looks shabby and chic!
