Bee happy ...... get the Singer out

I recently got out my old Singer sewing machine for a photo shoot with my ribbons

I had been storing my lovely machine in the garage and after Mr Happy had dug it out for me it needed a real good dusting down!

I am pleased with the results though.

The sewing machine has cleaned up well and the ribbons and lace look good too.

I also had to sneak my Bee happy pin jar into the photos which I made a while ago.

The Singer machine also has an extendable table for bigger sewing jobs which would be great on my modern Singer sewing machine.

Bee happy ..... renovate a screen

Do you remember a little while ago a lovely friend gave me this plain wooden and canvas screen?

I have now finished it and am ready to show you.

I painted the frame white and then made some new fabric panels with white linen fabric, lace trim and pretty shell buttons.

My new screen is great for displaying pretty clothes
(and hiding a lot of mess behind it too).

I am really pleased with the finished screen, do you like?

Bee happy ..... vintage buys

I wanted to share my vintage buys with you from the open day held at Welbeck at the weekend.

Most buys were from Hope and Elvis' studio, loved it in here.

Vintage blue ribbon

Couple of pieces of pretty fabric

Packets of lace and fabric scraps

Cute vintage paisley scarf

Gorgeous vintage paisley eiderdown

Scraps of wool pieces

I was wondered what the best way to clean the eiderdown was, dry clean or use the washing machine on a wool/hand wash cycle, what do you recommend?

There is also a tear in the fabric, any suggestions from you wonderful people out there for a repair?

Bee happy ..... visit Harrogate

I went to the Knit and Stitch show at Harrogate this weekend with my lovely neighbour.

There were some gorgeous pieces of work on display.

This hook work was carried out by Hooked by Design there were some wonderful pieces here.

I especially loved this piece with the bees on :)

I bought some fabric from this stall, the french style and patterned which you will see later.

Great ideas for makes using the fabrics they stock.

Bought some pale pink velvet, hearts and small floral fabric from The Shuttle. The lady and gent here on this stand were so kind and had such a large range of gorgeous fabrics with them.

My buys, bundles of faded florals, red linen, grey and blue lace, paints for my screen printing in gorgeous pastel colours, I also got some sparkly buttons, wool and a heart trug.

Very pleased with my buys, just have to start creating now :)
