Bee happy .... think summer thoughts

I wanted to show you some of my recent handy work.

After my holiday to Devon I was inspired to make some fish.  I even used real shells :)

These cute little fellows are now hanging in my summer house.

I have given the garden a little revamp.

I made new bunting for my lovely summer house and because I loved it so much I made more for the fencing at each side of the summer house.  I used brown twine to attach the flags to as I didn't have any ribbon long enough.

The cream flags are actually old curtains I had.  I can hear some of you thinking about bunting shaped holes in a pair of curtains now which are still hanging at a window! Don't worry they were in my cut up box :)

I also painted the old fence the same colour blue as my summer house, the fence looks like it will last a bit longer now, it looked old and wobbly before.

Have you noticed my ickle friend sat on the fence while I was snapping away with the camera?

He followed me around the garden until I put a lard ball out for him!

Bee happy ..... win ribbon!

On Saturday I received a big parcel full of ribbons! I had won a competition with Simply Homemade magazine :)

As you can see loads of packs of ribbons in different colours and textures as well as several packs of tassels.

Because there's so much here I decided to have a giveaway and share this cute win :)

The giveaway includes 2 packs of ribbon on card, 2 bags of ribbon and 3 packs of tassels.

All you have to do is be a follower and comment on this post what you would do with the ribbon
 if you won it.

For an extra entry you could blog about this giveaway and use the photo below.

I will close the giveaway on Saturday 13th August, good luck everyone.

Bee happy .... get knitting

I have decided to use my CK cowboy bag for a knitting bag because it is roomy and I love it!

My other knitting bag is full so I needed to expand.

I have my wool from my magic ball swap from Kandipandi in here.

I bought this pink and blue wool from Hobby craft in their sale recently, 3 balls of each colour so that is now in there as well.

I have also moved my knitting needles into this bag too.

Don't know when or what I will knit but watch this space ......

Bee happy ..... recycle!

Mr Happy was going to give a pair of cargo trousers to the charity shop when I had a good idea!

I thought I would try and make a bag using them and this is the finished product.  Because the fabric is heavy cotton it is great for a bag, hard wearing and soft.

The bag is made of one leg.

It has a pocket on each side of the bag.

This pocket is from the leg of the trousers.

This pocket is from the backside :)

I used ribbon to hide where I had cut the pockets out and to help hold them onto the bag.

I decided it needed a little something else so I used some of my button stash to add
something fancy.  The handle is hessian fabric.

I am going to put this cute bag on Etsy or Folksy me thinks.

Hope you like :)

Bee happy ... hip hip holidays!

A few snaps to show you what me and Mr Happy got up to on our holidays in North Devon :)

Beach huts on Woolacombe beach

Love this fence on Woolacombe beach, the National Trust have erected
it to help preserve the sand dunes behind

Playing on the rocks at Woolacombe beach watching the tide come in.
These rocks are great for rock pooling when the tide is out.

Popped into Silverston for a coffee on the way to Bicester,
bought a few goodies from Links of London and fabric from
Cath Kidston :)

We literally stumbled upon this ickle fellow on the back garden
late at night taking the doggies out before bed. Tash decided to try and
play by knocking him with her nose which caused him to roll up in a ball
causing Tash to get giddy and wanting to play even more!

Mr Happy insisted I include this photo of an F1 car.  Marussia Virgin Racing is our local team
based in Dinnington and we were really, really, really, really lucky to be invited to look around their head quarters before we went to Devon.  Inside where the team work on the 2 F1 cars is so white and clean, very impressive!
I think this was Mr Happy's highlight of the holiday! His Marussia Virgin Racing t-shirt even turned up in the post on the Thursday before we went on the Sunday! Such good timing!

I received my magic ball swap from Kandipandi in the holidays.
She has used some gorgeous wool, so cute!

Inside there were buttons, a needle case, crocheted flower and cloth which I adore the colours of these.
I also got some stamps, candles, CK tissues, hand cream, bath bomb and heart pegs!

I am so lucky thank you so much Kandipandi, I love all of my gifts :)

Explored Hartland in North Devon for the first time, we also saw
posters advertising the Antiques Roadshow at Hartlands Abbey for
that week, we were going to miss it as it was later that week but
will be looking out for it on TV.

The tide is in at Hartland's.

Hartlands again, it is so Enid Blyton Famous Five here with rocks,
caves and hidey holes, I love it!

View on cliff top looking over Croyde beach.
Hope I haven't bored you with these holiday snaps, I know what they can be like!!

While away in North Devon I couldn't resist this union jack wooden bunting, husband kindly put it up for me last week, cos I was a pain bugging him!

Bee happy .... buy towels

Popped out to Matalan the other night and found these great hand towels for £4 each.  There were also bath towels as well.

Couldn't resist, got one in each colour :)

Used some of my new craft materials to make myself a Bee happy magnet for the fridge door.

Hubby has booked the next 2 weeks off work so will not be blogging much but will catch up with everyone soon :)

Hope you all have a great July!
