Bee happy .... free stuff up for grabs

I recently bought some new labels to put on things I make.

I usually have fabric stitch on ones but I decided to try iron on ones for a change.

You can see these look great :)

I got these cute labels from My Name Tags.

After speaking to the lovely people at My Name Tags they said that they would love to give some black and white iron-on nametags away to the readers of my blog :) how great is that!

They are worth £9.95 and you get to choose a picture and 3 lines of text.

All you have to do is check out

to see what picture you want on your nametags and leave a comment on this post saying what it is.

I will leave this giveaway open until midday Tuesday 31 May.

I will draw 3 names out of something handy on Tuesday afternoon and will then announce the winners.

Good luck everyone!

Bee happy ........ get free stuff!

I have been really lucky, I was given 2 big boxes yesterday from a friend who owns the kennels where we take our little doggies for their overnight stays and for grooming.

She used to make all her own clothes and her children's years ago and when she found out that I make things she said she had a couple of boxes of fabic for me! How sweet is she?

We unpacked them together and there was loads of different fabrics.

Cottons, linings, cord, wool, voile, polyester, silk.

Because she has had these boxes for years I think they are now classed as vintage! I'm so excited.

I've dragged these heavy boxes to the garage for now until I decide what to make :)

I also wanted to show you what I did with some left over CK wallpaper from my kitchen diner.

If you look closely on the bottom shelf you will see that the inside is brown.  I thought my CK wallpaper would look much prettier.

I just cut pieces to size and used a little blue tac to secure the back to the shelves.

I filled it with my Laura Ashley teapot set and teacups.

Bee happy .... haven't they grown!

Remember a couple of weeks ago when we visited the puppies?

We went back and haven't they grown!

They are so cute, at 6 weeks old now they are starting to play with toys and are eating some solid foods like their mummy.  They have also had a little hair cut and their nails trimmed several times.

My poorly pup still has her cone of shame on but her ear is still not better :(

Bee happy ..... pat the dog

The poor ickle doggy has burst a blood vessel in her ear and kept scratching it.

The vets sorted out her ear out and put her this collar on to stop her from scratching.

She is feeling so sorry for herself :(

She does have her ickle doggy friend to keep her company :)

I made this bag this morning while poorly dog was at the vets.

The theme is french and black and white on beige linen.

There is an outside back pocket and inside pocket with trims of black and white gingham ribbon.  I also put this ribbon on the handles.

I made a ribbon bag charm as well.

Think I may put this on Folksy later.

Hope your weekend is cheerier than the poorly doggy's.

Bee happy .... change things

After changing my CK quilt cover I got carried away with trims and added some to plain hand towels.

I used my gorgeous East of India ribbons and some pom pom trim.

I have also had a go at making strawberries from my lovely Tilda books.

You can see the different shapes as I got better at it!

When I bought my CK quilt cover in TK Maxx I found another crown, couldn't resist.  I filled it with my Laura Ashley roses.

I also popped back to Lakeland and used my remaining credit on a PIP bowl.

And finally, I can't remember who asked, but here's a close up on what is holding my ribbon pole up.

A small screw from net curtain wire with ribbon looped around the pole and then hooked up.

Hope this helps :)

Bee happy ...... be naughty

I bought this Cath Kidston king size quilt cover in TK Maxx a couple of weeks ago and put it to one side because my bed is only a double. I know, it doesn't fit, I know, but couldn't help it, had to buy it before someone else did!!

Notice the bargain price?

I couldn't help it girls, I cut it up!!

I never thought I would butcher anything CK but it just happened!

I cut both sides and the top off so it was 200 x 200cm to fit a double (leaving seam allowance) leaving the press studs along the bottom still.

I added strips of spotty fabric and edged with gingham ribbon.

I cut a panel off the top altogether and added more spotty material.

Then I used a strip of the CK quilt which had been snipped to add a strip to the top part.

I edged in lace and more gingham ribbon.

I then sewed all the sides up and hey presto a new quilt that fits!

Hope you love it as much as I do :)

I got the idea after seeing some absolutely gorgeous PIP quilt covers which I couldn't afford in John Lewis.

Bee happy ..... catch up

Seems like ages since I last posted cos Blogger was down!

A quick reminder of what these looked like before I sprayed them.

After 2 coats of spray this is what they now look like :)

In place in the flower beds they stand out much better and add a little interest to the garden.

As always my little helpers were on hand.

My washing line broke last week :( It is a retractable one from Lakeland that has 2 lines.  One of the hooks snapped off when I tried to wrap the line around it.

Any ho, I rang the lovely people up at Lakeland but because I had had this washing line for a couple of years it wasn't being stocked any more.  But because Lakeland have a lifetime guarantee on all of their products they gave me a code so I could return the broken washing line and get a credit note in store.  It actually cost me £40 when I bought it, forgotten how expensive it was!

I went to the new Lakeland store in Meadowhall to buy new washing lines.  Turns out that the new lines were £11 each so I got 2 and I had spare credit left.  I cruised the aisles for a while and decided on a PIP tea towel as well.  I am still £8 in credit :) will save that for a rainy day!

I won another giveaway a little while ago and my prize came in the post on Saturday.

Deborah at The Wugs Backyard crochets these necklaces herself, they are so pretty.

Check out Deborah's blog as she has just crocheted a gorgeous bag.
