Bee happy .... open a shop

I have made that much stuff lately which is stored around the house or on display that husband told me I had to do something about it.

I did, I decided to open a shop on www.folksy.com where people who craft can sell their makes, what a great idea.

If you're interested in looking at my creations you can find me at

Hope you like what you see.

Bee happy ..... choose wallpapers

I went to Laura Ashley and picked up some wall paper samples, most of the have flowers or birds on them but after looking at different styles in my house magazines I still think I prefer white/grey plain walls with white painted floorboards.

I have decided I may use 2 of the wallpapers.

This is probably going to be in the downstairs cloaks.
It will add a little bit of luxury to a small room.

This may go in the hallway on one wall as a
feature.  Maybe add a beige carpet runner
with a black edge.

This was a consideration for my craft room.

I like this but not sure where for.

Decisions, decisions, this will take some thinking about .....

All the walls in every room have now been stripped of their old, dated papers.  I used a steam stripper, it was so easy and a lot quicker than a water spray :)

Bee happy ..... make a clock

Husband was cutting up some wood to burn on the fire the other day and he thought he was showing off his cutting skills by making a heart shape in the wood for me.  I immediately saw a making activity and promptly asked him to cut a better heart shape (from my own drawing) so I could turn it into a clock.

Bet husband wished he wasn't so good with his jigsaw.

I used flower buttons for the numbers and ordered a clock mechanism from Amazon.  All I had to do (with help from my lovely assistant, husband) was chisel out a section on the back of the clock for the mechanism to fit so the heart was flat to the wall when it was hung up.

I painted the heart in green to match my kitchen units which are the same colour.

Am really pleased with the finished look.

Bee happy .... write a book

Wanted to let you know about my book Diary of a house move.  In connection with my blog on houses, decorating and being creative, I wrote a book about buying and selling a house.  It has highs and lows with a bit of funny stuff thrown in. If it think it will interest you take a look. It's on this website

http://www.authonomy.com/

and if you search Diary of a house move it should appear.

Let me know your thoughts.

Bee happy .... God save the Queen

I have been practising my free hand embroidery on my sewing machine and made this sampler.

After my sampler I made this union jack bag with a logo on the back.

Bee happy ..... love the Union Jack style

I love making Union Jack things, here are a few cushions in different colours and designs, and fabrics.

I have used fleece for the black and red cushion and cotton for the blue spotty one.

I have added a few embellishments to the blue Union Jack cushion, couldn't help myself, they are smiling down on me in their jars while I am at my sewing machine :)

Hope you like them.

Bee happy .... looking forwards to Spring

After taking down my Christmas wreath outside near the front door, I swapped the red ribbons and baubles for more Spring like colours in pastel pinks and blues.  I also added a few artificial rose heads.

I am now awaiting the arrival of Spring but at the moment as I write my lovely wreath is now covered in snow :(

When will the cold weather go?

Bee happy ..... make a pin jar

I had a go at making a pin jar and I think I did pretty well.  For a first job I would give it 10 out of 10 :)

I used my favourite Cath Kidston print fabric for the top and then added some pretty buttons and bows.

Don't need to buy one now.

I filled my jar with bits and bobs from my shelves, and have to admit the jar looks good filled up.

Bee happy .... love ribbon roses

Is it me or are small ribbon roses gorgeous? I just love the range of colours and the silky feel of them :)

I have recently stocked up on these purchasing from e-bay, and thought I needed to take a picture of them to show you.

I have started my pin jar and will show you later the finished product.  I will of course be using 1 or 2 of my new ribbon roses.

Happy New Year!

Hope you have all had a great Christmas and are looking forwards to what the New Year will bring.

I have had the flu over Christmas, started just before and am just clearing it now.

I am in the middle of planning projects for the new year, looking through my new books for ideas and inspiration.
