Bee happy ... cheer yourself up

Just a quick one today.

I have been cheering myself up looking at my lovely buttons.

I have a horrible cold, everything hurts and aches :(

Looking at the laptop is making me dizzy so I'm off.

Hope you have a great week :)

Bee happy .... get happy feet

My poor sequin Converse :(

The insides have all worn and ripped so rub my feet. My poor sore feet.

Had to put these out for the bin men yesterday.

But look what the postie brought me today :0)

Gorgeous replacements.

Couldn't decide which colour to get, so I purchased both ;)

I just love love love my new Converse, my feet are happy again!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Bee happy ... update a coat

I found this coat in the garage wardrobe the other day and have decided to brighten it up a little bit.

A wash brightened it up a lot for now though!

I have some ideas and some bits and bobs which I will probably stitch onto it so stay tuned.

Bee happy ..... eat cake

Wanted to share these gorgeous cupcakes with you.

No, I didn't bake them myself, mine wouldn't turn out as good as this!

Mr Happy and I went to visit our lovely cousins yesterday and she had baked especially for us, she is wonderful isn't she?

We had a lovely day with them and left with a box full of these cupcakes even though we had eaten a few already :)

Wanted to show you my new purchase from Laura Ashley.

She has pride of place on my hearth.

Also got these candles in the glass jars as well from a little shop in Meadowhall.

Have a great week everyone.

Bee happy ...... write a book

A little while ago I wrote a book about moving house and the renovations which were needed.

The book is soon going to be available on Amazon.

I wanted to thank the lovely Tam and her husband Carl from

who kindly turned the ideas in my head to the stunning front and back cover you can see below, they are so kind, creative and talented.

Front cover

Back cover without blurb

This diary is a humorous account of one couples experience in buying and selling a house in a credit crunch. Sharing their adventure is their half blind cat and disabled dog. Nicknaming the different houses and people linked to the properties help them to remember which houses they have viewed. They manage to eventually buy a house and renovate it with the help of various tradesmen before they move in. This hilarious diary will keep you entertained from start to finish.
My book has been on line for several months and below are some of the comments I have received from my readers.

"This book is full of those moments and observations that make you shake your head, or laugh out loud. For anyone who has dabbled in buying or selling a home, this is a must read"
"As a former property lawyer, I don't need to read beyond the pitch to know this will be hilarious!"
"This is an accurate detailed and very funny look at moving house – but oh so true!"
"This is a fun book to read!"
"I loved the story of throwing the ball to Nephew. Your book was a delightful read and I thank you for writing it"
“This is a great read, and deals with a topic that touches us all- moving! The way you engage the reader with humour is wonderful! It really made me laugh!!”
“Before starting to read thought what a strange thing to write about, finished book one o-clock in the morning reading all chapters of this amazing story of a terrible year of stress selling and buying houses. Brought back some not so good memories of my own. This book is so well done, I had many laughs through the search for the right home.”

Thursday 9 February 2012

Just wondered if anyone else had been into Next a lately.

Popped in the other day and found this little beauty. This statue was just calling out to me :)

Next seem to have some sweet home ware things in at the moment, they are worth a look and it's not too badly priced either.

I have been busy making and crafting again and popped a few more things in my Folksy shop.

Click on the link on my sidebar if you want to browse my Folksy shop.

Different tins with Tilda stickers with 3 traditional pegs inside, each with 1 metre of different lace on them.

I have also made another doll, this time she is reversible.

Always wanted this type of doll when I was little but never ever got one, my friend had one and I was so jealous!

I was also lucky enough to win another giveaway over at

Poetess Wug's sweet blog

A cute crochet pouch in a gorgeous colour.

If you don't follow already this blog is definitely worth a follow, she's great!

Bee happy ... make a leather bag

Remember this?

I have now finished my pink leather bag :)

First I stitched up the lining with right sides facing each other.

When I had stitched around the 2 sides and bottom I then pinched the corners out and stitched across here so my bag has a base.

I wanted a clip inside my bag to hold keys so I used a piece of leather stitched in half and tucked it through the clip.

I made my leather outers the same as the lining by stitching right sides together and then stitching the bottom corners across.

I then turned the leather the right way around and sat the lining inside.

Next I turned the leather over on itself so it sat over the top edge of the lining.

As I stitched this around I tucked my leather key holder under the edge of the leather for the stitching to hold it in place.

I also made a tassel charm with left over leather and some hearts attached.

My finished bag.

As you can see the handles are just a piece of leather that I stitched in half.  Then I measured in 10cm from each side and stitched this in half again.

This will hopefully make the handles more comfy to hold.

I then put the handles on the inside of the bag and stitched in place measuring 5cm in from the side seams to make sure they were in the same place on both sides.

On the whole I am really pleased with how this turned out except in some places the leather slipped slightly when sewing, any suggestions as to how to stop this in future anyone?
