Bee happy ..... paint your stairs

I have more pictures to share with on my stairs and hallway.

First off, the front door bell had this ugly gold/cream cover so I decided to change it.

The landing floor has been painted.

The stairs have been sanded and cleaned.

You can see the door bell cover has been sprayed with paint to match in better to the decoration and it now doesn't look so old and messy.

I have painted the white again on the stairs and my little helper is again offering her services in marking up with masking tape.

The stairs are all masked up and ready for the central bare wood section to be painted.

The grey has now been painted in the middle.

Time to pull the masking tape off.

Oh no! the masking tape has also pulled off some the white paint, I hate masking tape!!

I have now touched up any bits that need it and the stairs are ready for a big reveal :)

Bee happy ..... finished photos

My spare bedroom is now finished and put back together.

I can say that it is cozy in here as we slept in here while I decorated our bedroom, photos to come :)

As you can see I decided to cover the wallpaper patchwork canvas with the toile wallpaper and as you can see it looks better with the colours in here.

The red rug is from the living room as now we have the natural mats in there from Ikea.

If you've spotted the little plastic cup, that is holding all of the nails and screws taken from the walls in our bedroom, I've found this is a great way to store these bits and curtain hooks for each room as the cups can be wrote on and no bits are lost :)

A reminder of the canvas.

Hope you are having a great week, I am just about to sand the kitchen floor back to repaint white as it is now looking tired compared to the rest of the floors ;)

I will be catching up on all of your blogs very soon.

Bee happy .... catch up

Is it me or are the little dogs making a love heart?

The little dogs know how to wedge themselves in to a basket to keep warm and cosy.

This is the moon still out the other morning, managed to catch a bird in shot as well :)

Went a drive with Mr Happy over the weekend and came across this little village. Love this old building with its painted door and leaves on the ground.

The phone box is no ordinary phone box either.

It's a book exchange box ;)

Remember when my HOME letters kept dropping off the wall and breaking in the middle of the night?

I have a cunning idea.

I am going to glue them onto this wooden heart which I will then hang on the wall.

These suckers won't drop off again!

I have painted the heart grey so the letters stand out.

I bet you can guess where this will be hung up with the colour of it :)

Just got my House Beautiful magazine through the letter box and it's full of Christmas stuff so I'm off for a sit down and a look through :)

Bee happy .... take a sneaky peak

Just a quick one today.

The spare bedroom has been painted now.

This is what it looked liked before with half a plastered ceiling and looking a bit tired.

When the walls were all prepared and painted I painted a section of the floorboards so we could then move the wardrobes into place before painting the rest of the floors.

Furniture being moved in.

Floorboards all painted.

Finished photos to follow .....

Bee happy ..... change curtains

Just a quick one today.

I had these grey curtains up a few houses ago and wanted to put them on the stairs to match the new wallpapered wall.

The only trouble is that they were too small so because I had 2 sets I stitched 2 curtains together for each side and encountered another problem.

They didn't quite match along the bottom as they were cheapish curtains.

My solution was to make and attach a voile frill to hide any discrepancies along the bottom.

I covered the frill with a piece of white ribbon.

I think it looks good now.

I also stitched a black out liner curtain to the back of the curtains as it is so high it is difficult to get to the heading tape if the lining slipped so stitching it in made sense.

I am working on something on the stairs instead of carpet so stay tuned, it could be interesting!

Bee happy ..... winners and wallpaper

The hallway wall has now been wallpapered.  I used a Laura Ashley pattern which I used in my last house, just love it!

Bought this memo cork board from TK Maxx and decided to put wallpaper inside the frame to cover the ugly orange cork up.

I was a winner over at the lovely Jem's at

Thanks Jem, I just love Paperchase things :)

And now for my giveaway winners ...

The names went into this lovely Rachel Ashwell jar from her new shabby chic range at House of Fraser to be picked out.

The winners are

Butterfly

Mouse

Well done you, if you could email me at

with your details I can post out your cushions :)

Have a great week everyone.

Bee happy .... get some help and something a little different

I made these canvas pictures for the front bedroom out of wall paper samples but I'm not sure I like them now they are finished.

I have this red and white toile wallpaper which I think I may use to cover both canvas with instead.

The room is white with white floorboards and touches of red with a little pine furniture as well.

What do you think I should do?

Leave them or cover them? .....

Also I have some carpet samples for the stairs and landing and the master bedroom.

The stripes are for the steps on the stairs and then I can't decide which cream carpet to use for the landing and half landing.

Which ever cream carpet I use on the landing it will be carried into the bedroom.

Which cream carpet do you think to go with the stripe carpet, top or bottom picture?

And finally, something a little different.

I was out on the garden last night before bed with the little dogs.

They had seen something in the grass but by the time I had reached them whatever they were looking at had disappeared.

Tash had something hanging from her mouth, I thought it was grass after they were looking in the grass but suddenly realised what was hanging out of her mouth was a tail.

Turns out she swallowed a field mouse whole.

I know this because a few seconds later she spat it back out!!

We managed to get it from her and it was still alive so we carefully put it in the field at the back of the garden.

To top this, this morning on the garden Coco decided to help the sparrows by finishing off their lard ball which had blown off the bird table in the these strong winds we are having :)

What should I do with them!!??

I've made sure I've picked up the carpet samples so they don't puke on them!!

Bee happy .... get flowers and more decorating

Mr Happy came home yesterday with some gorgeous white roses for me as I spent most of yesterday painting the floorboards white in the hallway and bed 2.

The stairs looked like this last week.

You can see the ceiling looking a bit rough around the edges!

Stay tuned for more pics :)
