Bee happy ....... make a cushion

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I bought this bag last week, couldn't resist the picture on the front and it is made from linen.

I decided to make it into a cushion cover :)

I cut off the handles and put these to one side.

I cut a panel of matching fabric (the same as my curtain material, linen from Ikea) and hemmed and stitched this to the front top seam of the bag.

This flap will then fold over the cushion inside to hide it.

I then got my bag handles and cut each one in half and then stitched each half 2 on either side at the top to use as ties to hold the cushion together and look pretty.

I am really pleased with my new cushion and it was only £8.95 so a cheap one at that.

Bee happy .... make a leather bag

I bought some pink leather recently and have decided to make a hand bag.

I decided on a style and cut out my pattern.

I am using this CK fabric for the lining.

Both materials are cut and ready for sewing now, so stay tuned for the finished result.

Bee happy .... God save the Queen

I have been practising my free hand embroidery on my sewing machine and made this sampler.

After my sampler I made this union jack bag with a logo on the back.
