Bee happy ..... visit Harrogate

I went to the Knit and Stitch show at Harrogate this weekend with my lovely neighbour.

There were some gorgeous pieces of work on display.

This hook work was carried out by Hooked by Design there were some wonderful pieces here.

I especially loved this piece with the bees on :)

I bought some fabric from this stall, the french style and patterned which you will see later.

Great ideas for makes using the fabrics they stock.

Bought some pale pink velvet, hearts and small floral fabric from The Shuttle. The lady and gent here on this stand were so kind and had such a large range of gorgeous fabrics with them.

My buys, bundles of faded florals, red linen, grey and blue lace, paints for my screen printing in gorgeous pastel colours, I also got some sparkly buttons, wool and a heart trug.

Very pleased with my buys, just have to start creating now :)

Bee happy .... make Christmas decorations

I have been making some Christmas decorations over the last couple of days with some wooden hearts, stars, rusty bells and wooden bobbins.

For the wooden shapes I used Mod Podge and my French newspapers and stuck over both sides of the shapes.

One when side was dry I did the other side.

For the shapes with no holes in I used some ribbon and glued that down first under the newspaper for hanging with.

When each side was completely dry and hard I used my knife to cut off the excess paper.

When both sides were completed I then put glue all around the edges and rolled in red glitter.

My little Christmas tree is now decorated.

I used lace, ribbon and rusty bells for the large hearts.

For the wooden bobbins I wrapped a small amount of ribbon around and then for the hanger threaded some through the hole and knotted at the bottom to keep the ribbon holder in place.

My first felted pudding.

I used my Jane Means ribbon stash.

My little snowman and Christmas pudding were my first attempt at felting, I think they turned out quite well :)

What have you been making for Christmas?

Bee happy ..... change a cushion

I bought an iron on transfer in the sale from John Lewis ages ago and and have finally used it.

I had a plain pink cushion cover from Hobby Craft so ironed on my transfer and then added a couple of buttons and flowers in the opposite corners.

I am really pleased with the result and the cushion now has pride of place on my crafting chair :)

I have now sorted out a Facebook link too which is in my sidebar, come over and say hello.

Bee happy ..... have a French christmas

I was inspired by my French magazine Marie Claire ideas.

The use of wooden bobbins to make christmas decorations is wonderful!

Sorry about the photos, all the wrong way around!

No doubt the wooden bobbin sales will increase shortly :)

Have a wonderful week everyone.

Bee happy ..... get some flowers

While shopping at Tesco this week I bought myself some flowers, roses and
carnations, £5 for both bunches.

I think they look great mixed up in different vases and have certainly cheered up the living room.

Bee happy ... make a Christmas journal

After looking around the shops seeing different Christmas journals and notebooks I thought some of them were a little pricey.

I decided to make my own from a notebook I already had in my stash.

I tied some spotty ribbon around the front cover and knotted on the front through a red button.

I added a little angel charm through the button holes with some smaller red ribbon.

I then stuck on a festive Christmas card with some washi tape.

And voila! a festive notebook for ideas, lists and recipes.

Bee happy ..... use facebook

I am now on Facebook but it is all new and confusing, has anyone got any tips for me?

Also, how do I get the logo to put a link on my blog?
and how do I know what my FC name/address is?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hope you are all having a happy weekend.

Bee happy ..... using fabric

I have been pairing similar fabrics together for my next makes.

I am making some eiderdowns and wanted different fabrics for each side.

I think I have come up with some good matches.

What do you think?

 Which is your favourite pair?
