Bee happy .... hit the sales
I have been using my credit card
a little too much at the moment, it can’t be helped though as the sales are
great.
First off, an on line order from Monsoon which came today.
When I tore open the bag there was a free copy of the Grazia
magazine, don’t you just love free things J
Also in this package was a new grey cardi with pretty buttons and scallop edging.
Down to the good stuff, lots of buttons, ribbon and binding
on wooden bobbins.
On holiday I also bought a couple of things too.
I just had to buy this Kirstie Allsopp book after visiting
Clovelly Silk in Devon. It is really good and full of all the craft projects
that Kirstie did along with great instructions.
This cute little bits and bobs tin came from Levens Hall in
the Lake District.
I just couldn’t resist this, not seen this design before and
had to have it.
You may have spied the brown box under the bag in the first
picture, this is for another time!
I wonder what you have bought in the sales?

Have a delicious day!

Bee happy ..... get screen printing
Remember my screen printing set I bought while on holiday in North Devon from Clovelly Silk?
Well, I finally made time to have a go this weekend.
This was my tester on an old sheet.
I haven't done any screen printing since I was at school so was quite nervous.
I had made this crown stencil myself, you may be able to see the skull and cross bones under the screen print that I have also made myself.
I think this turned out quite well.
I bought this stencil with the bee and crown, too small to try and cut out myself.
I now need to sew my printed fabrics into something :)

Bee happy .... a visit to Clovelly in North Devon
Mr Happy and I have just spent a couple of days in North Devon.
We visited Clovelly for the first time and even though it was raining we had a great day there.
We found Ann Jarvis Designs/Clovelly Silk in the Lower Yard.
Ann Jarvis Designs/Clovelly Silk is run by Ann and her husband Bill with their daughter Ellie.
Inside was full of wonderful fabrics and scarves which had been screen printed.
This is where Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer had a go at screen printing for their TV programme 'Kirstie & Phil's Perfect Christmas'
Ann and Bill |
Ann and Bill were so lovely and friendly and Bill showed me the huge printing table and screen print frame that they use which you can see in the picture behind them.
Courses for screen printing are run here and are very popular but it is a shame that we were only here for one day otherwise I would have booked myself in :)
I made a couple of purchases which Bill kindly wrapped carefully for me to keep them safe on the journey home.
My own screen printing set.
Ann and Bill also gave me a few samples of their printing.
This design is Clovelly itself and can be seen on their website in more detail.
Stay tuned for more photos of our North Devon adventure and some screen printing.

Have a delicious day!
